2011 Kawasaki Z1000 SX
It could be baptized “the moment of dark green . ” In the days before the INTERMOT 2010 seems to confirm that the news will not be limited to 2011 colors and that the well known Z750R will not be the only player in the spotlight of Cologne.
Emerge from the network – and more precisely by SoyoMotero.net – some pictures and the first technical details about the new Z1000SX, Unpublished version of the faired maxi -naked Akashi which now caters to an audience too sporty, but that does not disdain more protectiveness and use your bike for travel in the medium -long range
The new aesthetics is clear: the windshield of a good size is also adjustable, raised handlebars , while the hull with fin is very aggressive . Less sophisticated design of the rear, where the handles and the optics look very much like that of twin ER -6.
All new instrumentation, which combines an analog part (the revolution ) to a digital , which offers all the information on the onboard computer and its functions .
Under the tank ( 19 liters ) houses the 4-cylinder DOHC 16-valve 1043 CC 138 Hp who vents his voice through the exhaust system 4-2-2 amended, with a smaller volume of 3 liters compared to that of the Z1000 , and above 3.5 kg less weight .

2011 Kawasaki Z1000
To most younger riders, New York Steak is something you lay down twenty-five bucks for at a restaurant and pour A1 sauce over. To older riders, New York Steak will only ever mean one thing and one thing only: The original Kawasaki Z1. The Kawasaki engineers were so convinced that their paradigm shifting first transverse four would turn on the American public that their codename for the project was the nomenclature of that noble and fully Yankee cut of meat. And they were right. Americans, and almost all other nationalities, just ate that Z1 up!
As the latest descendant of what is arguably the most attractive motorcycle in history, the fully redesigned 2011 Kawasaki Z1000 has a transverse four and two wheels. That's about the extent of the family resemblance as it would stretch aesthetic sensibility to term it anything but fairly ugly.
The 1043cc liquid-cooled, DOHC, four valves per cylinder, inline-four with DFI featuring four 38mm Keihin throttle bodies with thin oval sub-throttles, and TCBI with digital advance for lower end grunt, has grown by 90ccs since 2009 but thanks to a lowered crankshaft is no taller than the 2009 motor. The configuration in some extremely mild way is still a form of a Z1 if you really push the definition.
The Z1000 is a street fighter through and through, and that's one definition that you don't need to finesse. Power is transmitted to the asphalt via a ginormous 190/50 ZR17 and when it's time to hang the butt off the seat and provide your leathers with some new knee scuffs, the 41 mm inverted cartridge fork with adjustable spring preload and stepless compression and rebound damping provides 4.7 inches of flawless suspension in the front and the horizontal monoshock also with adjustable spring preload and stepless rebound damping, matches it in the rear with 5.4 inches of wheel travel. Should you ever be interested in stopping the thrill ride, the dual 300mm petal-type rotors with radial-mount four piston calipers and the single 250mm petal-type rotor with single piston caliper provide more than enough G force.
At just over ten grand the 2011 Kawasaki Z1000 is not ridiculously overpriced but doesn't exactly scream value. It's important to realize that the Z1000 is a very specific and thoroughly dedicated type of motorcycle for one specific application alone: If you're in the market for a super naked and thoroughly competent street fighter, then you've come to the right place.

Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R
Hats off to the Kawasaki Ninja® ZX™-6R then, winner of 600cc comparison tests in just about every publication and website of note on the planet. With an engine the critics agree feels bigger than 599cc, and a chassis that out handles all others, the ZX-6R returns as the bike to beat in 2010.
With a fine-tuned chassis including a class-exclusive Big Piston Fork and fully adjustable shock out back, razor-sharp handling sets the ZX-6R apart. To optimize front-rear rigidity balance, frame stiffness around the swingarm pivot and the rear engine mounts is carefully tuned, with the compact engine rotated forward around the output shaft for a steep cylinder bank angle and optimal center of gravity.
An exhaust layout with a short side muffler keeps the weight low, and an exhaust pre-chamber further contributes to the ZX-6R’s mass centralization.
An exhaust layout with a short side muffler keeps the weight low, and an exhaust pre-chamber further contributes to the ZX-6R’s mass centralization.
But Kawasaki didn’t just declared themselves satisfied with that, it needed to bring that power and torque to the rider’s right hand without this involving jerks, only smooth and instant throttle response and control. In order to achieve that, engineers added cylindrical guides to the top of the air cleaner box, bringing chirurgical precision to air intake systems and getting the maximum bang from every fuel load going into the cylinders. The throttle bodies were lengthened, increasing distance between oval sub-throttle and round main throttles 10mm, resulting in a much smoother transition, reducing inlet turbulence and increasing efficiency. Also, the cylinder porting and ignition coils were revised in the quest for performance.
As weight is a key factor, the making of this inline-four involved finding solutions for reducing it. And if that meant making the camshafts from SCM, revising the top injector mounting plate, narrowing the transmission gears, revising and relocating coolant reservoir and heat pads, Kawasaki engineers didn’t boggle in doing it.

2011 KAWASAKI KLX 140
There’s nothing like an off road motorcycle that does many things well, especially one that fits a wide variety of riders and skill-sets. And with its mid-sized stature, flexible engine and easy-to-ride nature, Kawasaki’s 2011 KLX™140 is one such multi-talented machine. Smaller riders will love the KLX’s physical size – a touch larger than a typical minibike – and push-button starting, while those a bit taller will appreciate the larger-wheeled KLX140L, which features a 19” front and 16” rear wheel in place of the standard KLX’s 17” front and 14” rear wheels. Both 140s are friendly to beginners and novices, yet both offer a roomy cockpit and enough performance and handling prowess to keep more advanced riders smiling.
Start-ups are simple: just press the power switch and thumb the KLX’s start button and you’re off and running. Because dead batteries are a drag, the power switch contains an internal LED that illuminates, alerting riders whenever the ignition is on. Power from the KLX’s air-cooled SOHC 144cc engine is plentiful yet easy to manage via the manual clutch and five-speed, close-ratio transmission. The clutch design promotes an easy learning curve via its spring damper system; the design provides progressive, two-stage engagement and easy half-clutch use during slower speed riding, the perfect thing for those just leaning the machinations of manual shifting. Additional benefits of this system are a more direct lever feel and increased clutch durability.
The KLX’s high-revving, smooth and surprisingly quiet engine is wrapped in a high-tensile steel perimeter frame covered by KX™-like shrouds, a two-tone seat cover and sharp, aggressive body work. The 140’s roomy cockpit, overall control layout and narrow footpeg/frame relationship – including wide and comfortable footpegs – make it easy for riders to move around while aboard with a minimum of effort.
A 33mm telescopic fork featuring custom-tuned spring rate and damping settings handles suspension duties up front. In back, a UNI-TRAK® linkage equipped rear shock featuring 5-way preload adjustability provides a smooth and controlled ride. To provide even greater options for growing riders, the KLX140L’s more advanced, reservoir-equipped shock easily fits the standard KLX140.
RK EXCEL aluminum rims and advanced braking components are another sign this is a serious off-road motorcycle. A large 220mm front disc and 27mm twin-piston caliper at the front and 186mm rear disc provide serious stopping power. Both utilize petal shaped rotors, which help clean the brakes and reduce unsprung weight for better wheel control.
Bottom line? The KLX140 delivers an ideal blend of size and performance, all of which equals Big Fun for kids and adults alike.

Kawasaki hosted this accident at the anew opened Pala Raceway, on the Pala Indian catch in Southern California. At a columnist intro, usually you get bikes that accept been burst in, bankrupt up with new artificial and tires, so the testers get machines with the “bugs” formed out of them. Not this time, all the bikes were new, with aught hours on them. There were three mechanics assigned to anniversary annual crew: two Kawasaki techs and one Kayaba man.
We alike had a annoy guy from Bridgestone to audit the abrasion our addition was putting on the Bridgestone 404s advanced and back, and it accepted to be an accomplished motocross annoy for the sun-baked adobe that makes up a SoCal MX track.Engineers aimed at giving the KX450F better overall balance and stability – especially for more aggressive riders. What we discovered from our first impression is that the 2010 KX likes to be ridden hard. The harder you push it, the better it seems to perform.
